Is Your Lawn Mower Leaving Stripes in the Yard?

How to level Your Mower Deck

You want your lawnmower to give you an even straight cut all over your lawn. When you start noticing that your lawnmower is leaving stripes in the yard, you will need to adjust your mower deck.

These simple steps will help you learn how to level your mower deck.

As with any lawnmower adjustments or repairs, you want to ensure you familiarize yourself with your owner's manual first.

Each lawnmower will have specific manufacturer's recommendations on the details of how to level your mower deck. With that in mind, these are the basic steps you will need to do in the process of how to level your mower deck.

Step #1- Ensure your lawnmower has been turned off and that the engine is cool. Then remove the spark plug's wire and keep it separated a good distance from the spark plug itself.

Step #2- Ensure your lawnmower is on a level surface. Next, under the center part of the lawn mower's deck, place a section of pipe or angle iron, or other such item.

Step #3- To balance your mower deck from side to side, you first need to remove the plates at the rear. Then you can have the deck's center and rear portions placed on the angle iron or other such object.

Step #4- Next figure out how far the floor is to the tips of your lawn mower's blade with a measuring tape. If this distance is more than 1/8 of an inch as measured from one side to the other, you will have to adjust the level. This involves loosening the eccentric's shoulder blade. You will need to then adjust the eccentric as needed until you get the distance between the floor and blade tips to within 1/8 of an inch. Then secure the shoulder blade back. Next, put the sector plates back on and remove the pipe or angle iron.

Step #5- Once your lawnmower has been leveled from side to side you now need to ensure the front and rear balance is correct. To do this, you will need to take off the sector plates for the rear lift arms. The rear lift arms will be connected with hairpins and washers, so you need to take those off. Then, adjust the sector plate so that it is in a position of being a quarter of an inch lower in the back. If you can't adjust the sector plates any lower, you might need to make adjustments to the lift front rods. This involves taking off the washer and hairpin that connects the front rear arm with the front lift cable. Then turn the front lift cable so that it can go into the front arm without having the deck raised.

Following these simple steps in how to level your mower deck will keep your lawn looking even and beautiful throughout the season. Once again, follow the manufacturer's specifications for this process, and you should be able to level the deck to achieve a stripe-free yard.

I Just Bought A Domain Name - Will My Privacy Be Respected?

In short,no. Not unless you have taken steps to ensure privacy, and even then the shield you put up will not be ironclad. This article will first discuss why complete privacy is impossible-- as well as dangerous; then we will talk about what can be done to secure at least a modicum of privacy for your personal information.

ICANN(Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) the governing body for domain names, demands that every domain name registrar furnish it with accurate domain ownership information including reliable contact details with the name of an authorized person for contact purposes--that means you!

What happens if you fail to give the registrar accurate information? Well, the registrar can terminate your registration rights, for one thing. For another, somebody else can take control of the domain. Does this actually happen in the real world? I'm told that it does; and happens often enough to make inaccurate information an expensive proposition! Don't despair, it gets worse.

Every registrar is further required to provide an interactive webpage and "Whois service" to enable free access to up-to-date data concerning all active registered domain names. Which is to say that you must give them your private information, and in the absence of any actions to the contrary on your part, they will make that same information available to anyone, anywhere, with access to the Internet.

By the way, for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, a "Whois service" looks much like the domain name search box you used to register the domain. The difference being that when your domain name is typed into that box, out will come your name, address and phone number. Give it a try; you will find it most informative!

So what can you do to at least make it difficult for the predators, perverts and other malefactors we are told are hovering around out there in cyberspace? Remember, don't fake it; that's just asking for more problems. The best thing to do--indeed the only thing you can do is take your domain private. Virtually all the registrars have systems for doing this. The name, address and phone number of a recognized agent will be substituted for your own. How can they do this legally? Well, the existence of the agency was accepted by ICANN as sufficient evidence of acceptable contact information. In Theory all ICANN has to do is go to the agent when necessary.

One more detail. Be sure you purchase the privacy at the same time you register the domain. If not it is rather easy for knowledgeable searchers to discover who registered the domain immediately prior to being taken private--they know the odds are that that person will be the present owner-- namely you!

Have we answered the question posed by the title to your satisfaction? It might not be the answer you wanted to hear, but it is the reality of the net. You can at least make it difficult for those folks looking for your private information even if you can't avoid them entirely.

Can I Bring My Invention to Market If I Still Have a Day Job?

Not long ago, I talked to a brilliant young lady who has a new invention that she would like to market to the world. Of course, she already has a day job, but she would like to use this as her ticket out of the 9-to-5 world, and help launch her career as a successful venture, innovator, and entrepreneur. I so applaud such desire to succeed in the free-market. I believe that's what makes America great, as there is opportunity for people who want to go for it, and are willing to take risks. Now then let's talk about this for second shall we?

Can someone actually bring a new invention to market if they still have a day job? Yes, I believe they can, and there are many success stories of those who have. No, it's not going to be easy, but even if you only spend a few hours a night you can put together a pretty decent business plan, work on your prototype, do the patent searches, and do market studies to learn if what you want to produce, if your original thought and concept can actually make it in the real world. You may discover that is great is your idea, but no one is really going to buy it, and you're not going to get rich selling it.

That's okay, because this study you do in advance and the business planning that you work hard to learn, well, these are the first stesp, regardless of what the invention is. Even if this invention doesn't makes sense, that doesn't mean your next idea won't. What you need to do is keep your mind going, focused, and not let your grandiose ideas of optimism run away with it. You need to be systematic in your approach. Of course, this is my advice to the young gal who actually has a great invention, but I can't tell you what it is, it's a secret for now.

There are a number of steps you need to go through, those steps take time, and require patience, if you have a day job, then you have all the time in the world don't you? Thus, you should start right away, do your research, your business planning, and see if it is something people will buy. If so, start designing your prototype, and see if people like it, if they do go file a provisional patent, patent pending, and do some test sales on eBay, Craigslist, and/or Amazon.

Try some social networking with your friends and family to see if you can get some buzz going, if things take off, then you can quit your job. If not, keep thinking, and working on your next project, because now you have more experience in product launching. Please consider all this and think on it.

Business Owner's Policy - BOP

Business Owner's Policy (BOP) refers to the insurance package, which is a combination of both property insurance and liability insurance. The reasonable price tag makes this option more attractive for the small businesses instead of buying separate policies for property insurance and liability insurance. Business owner's policy is not suitable for the large businesses because they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for this policy. Insurance companies feel that large business involve greater amount of risk so they do not consider them for BOP.

Eligibility Criteria:

On the contrary, small and medium businesses are suitable candidates for business owner's policy. Eligibility criteria for this policy are liability limits, premises size, nature of the business and activities performed offsite. These factors along with financial stability, location of business, security measures, and quality of construction and possibilities of fire determine the price of the BOP.

There are vast variety of businesses are eligible for business owner's policy. Some of the examples are bakeries, fast food restaurants, convenience stores and restaurants providing fast food, wholesale and retail traders and many other businesses related with service industries. Interestingly, restaurants providing full services may be denied the advantage of this policy. Other businesses that may find eligibility difficult are bars, auto repair mechanics and manufacturers.

Let us discuss the property insurance and liability insurance separately. If you have property insurance, you are entitled to get the reimbursement for the losses to you business property. You have two options to choose from for property insurance. First is the Standard Form. In this option you will get compensation only if the losses have occurred due to certain predefined perils. On the contrary, if you choose Special Form, then you policy will cover losses due to any reason. However, make sure that no peril is specifically excluded in the policy. Not only the risk of your business property is covered, but the risk of machines and plants permanently installed like air conditioners, business inventory, furniture, and also property stored at other sites.

If you have the liability insurance, then the company will reimburse the amount if any visitors get injured at you premises or any of your products cause an injury to the customer. You can get some additional advantages by paying extra premium coverage like losses due to dishonest employees, Robbery, Burglary and mechanical breakdown.

Protecting business assets against loss is as important as the insurance cover for home and the contents. However, you need to make sure that the amount covered is not inadequate. Estimate both replacement value and actual value of your property. BOP also covers the losses occurred due to the damage to property or an instance of injury because either your business did something or it didn't do something.

Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals

There are circumstances and events that require review and litigation by the State's court system. If the lower levels are not able to resolve the issue or perhaps the subject matter requires higher review, the case will go to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. Although a law has not been violated, there are issues that a third party decision is required.

Every appeal that arises from civil cases is to be filed first with the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will then assign the case to the Court of Civil Appeals. Within this Court, there are four divisions of which have three judges sitting in each. Oklahoma City holds the First and Third Divisions while Tulsa holds the Second and Fourth Divisions.

In the State of Oklahoma, the Supreme Court has the Appellate jurisdiction is civil matters and will hear cases from both the District Court and the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. For workers' compensation cases, these will first be heard in the Workers' Compensation Court in which there are nine judges that hear these cases. If the ruling is deemed unsatisfactory to the injured worker, an appeal can be appealed and then would be heard by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

Civil cases can involve disputes in regards to people with disabilities, issues in regards to housing and welfare, disputed issues that deal with employment and even voting. Cases that are heard can deal with breach of contract, disputing a Civil Rights Act, job discrimination and even personal injury. Every case, per law, has the right to be heard and appealed and for civil cases, these would be first heard through the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.

In the unfortunate even that an issue has arisen and a case must be filed with the courts for review it is best to seek legal counsel before initiating the case. There are a number of things to consider prior to opening a case. The first is that is there truly a case. One may feel that a form of damage has been caused but in there may not be one in the eyes of the Court. Another point to consider is if there is a case what is the best way to resolve the issue; perhaps the attorney has knowledge of a similar case and the issue can be resolved out of court.

If the issue must be seen by the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, an attorney can assist with the steps that are required to taken in order to submit and file a case request as well as defend the case for you in Court. An Oklahoma attorney has been well educated with the laws for the State of Oklahoma and should have a great deal of knowledge of the Federal laws as well. Using an attorney who understands the situation and believes that a form of harm has been done against an individual, the success rate of winning one's case is much higher.

When an attorney is required to work with the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, is it best to choose an attorney that has experience with the type of case in question. Not only is this beneficial to resolving the issue quicker due to knowledge of similar cases, but the attorney's knowledge of the Courts processes will make the case move smoother through the system as well.
